Dream on the Beach

Crawling like a worm over bleached white bones
Trying to reach a dream long gone
So close yet so far away
What is this whisper telling me there is no hope?

Yet still, the dream, it rules me
Blinded by this burning light with none around
Hating my reward, blooding my sustenance
The water gently touching my fingers; there is no escaping it

Yet stil, the dream, it rules me
A ship closing the distance
It then fades away like paper; is there still a chance?

Yet still, the dream, it rules me
Numbness is seizing my mind, under this blazing sun
This ever so distant utopia, should I let it go?
